Album Repair

I met Anna at a wedding I shot back in 2008. She was the fantastic Maid of Honor! She contacted me about her own wedding album that was 10 years old and had kind of fallen apart, and asked if I could repair it or at least take a look at it. When she showed up with it in a garbage bag, I was a bit worried about what I got myself into 🙂 It was a beautiful album back in it’s day, but something terribly wrong happened to it and we don’t know why??? It had a beautiful leather cover which got SO sticky everything in sight stuck to it, including all the newspaper flyers! It was just awful, I felt so bad for her.

Well with MANY decisions later, she now has a beautiful, brand-spankin’ new wedding album! I’m so happy for her and her honey! You are great people! Enjoy your new album, Anna!

  1. Our album from our youngest daughter’s wedding needs a new cover. All of the pages seem to be in original condition but the cover is “STICKY”. We expect it is mold that grows rather quickly here in Florida. The album is now in our ACed appartment but it is creapy to handle.

I have not been able to get a response from the orignal photographer who lives in Lansdale, PA.

    Can you help?

  2. I have my Godmother’s wedding album from 1966. It has been in storage and the biding has given way. The pages seemed to be intact, but some have come off the binding. Do you know how I could this fixed?

Also, I have my parents wedding pictures. The album is gone. The photos are over 50 years old, but in good condition. Does anyone still do old fashioned wedding albums?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If easier, please email me with a reply.

    Thank you for your time.

  3. My wedding album cover is ruined I live on SOuth san francisco ca. Can you make any recommendations?

  4. I have a wedding album that is all sticky.
I would like to have my photos pages
bound into a new album, hopefully an
album that ages better. Do you do this
    type of restoring? Thanks.

  5. Dolly,

I cannot believe that I have found a site where others have a “sticky” wedding album. My wedding was in 1988 and I would like to have someone move my pictures to a new album. Do you have any recommendations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area including Virginia or Maryland?

    Thanks for your help!

    Susie

  6. My wedding album is also sticky. No one seems to know what to do. I want to have the pictures rebound and live in the Philadelphia area. Can you help?

  7. Can you please send me a quote on how much it would cost to replace or fix an art leather album cover that is sticky? It is large and has 36 total mats. Thanks so much

  8. I am SO surprised to learn that we are not the only couple with a 25 year old wedding album that has becone sticky on the outside! My husband swears that I spilled maple syrup on it!…LOL! We were married May 30, 1987 in Roanoke, VA & ordered our album at a professional photograper’s studio there. Just yesterday I took my sticky album (wrapped in non-stick aluminum foil) to a professional photographer near our home in OH. They had never seen anything like it. I now realize that this is a frequent occurrence with albums from a certain company that produced them in 1987. I’m hoping that a replacement album made of genuine leather will be a permanent fix to avoid future “sticky situations”! Best of luck to everyone!
